Terms of Service

Last updated: May 16, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Candid. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

What Candid is

Candid is a financial partnership platform for couples. We provide a guided assessment, a structured disclosure, and a written partnership plan that you and your partner complete together. Candid is a software product. It is not a law firm, accounting firm, or financial advisor.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract to use Candid. By using Candid, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping access to your email secure. Each Candid account belongs to one person. You should not share your sign-in link or one-time codes with anyone.

Not financial, legal, or tax advice

Candid is an information and conversation tool. The reports, prompts, and partnership plans we generate are educational. They are not legal, financial, tax, investment, or insurance advice and they are not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed professional. If you need advice for your specific situation, consult a lawyer, accountant, or financial advisor.

The partnership plan is a tool you and your partner create together to record how you intend to handle money. Whether it has legal effect in your jurisdiction depends on local law, the formalities you observe, and other facts. Candid does not provide legal representation and does not guarantee the enforceability of any document produced through the service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Impersonate another person or invite them to Candid without consent.
  • Use Candid to harass, deceive, or coerce another person.
  • Attempt to access another couple’s information.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the operation of the service.
  • Use Candid to violate any law.

Your content

You own the responses you submit to Candid. By submitting them, you grant Candid a limited license to store, process, and display them as needed to run the service for you and your partner. We will not use your responses to train models or sell them to third parties.

Service availability

We work to keep Candid available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. If we discontinue Candid materially, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your information.

Disclaimers

Candid is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Candid will be error-free or that the information you receive will be accurate for your specific circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Candid and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of one hundred dollars (USD 100) or the amount you paid Candid in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by emailing support@candid.partners. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is being used to harm another person.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Candid after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and Candid consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
